A dramatic incident unfolded at Lawson FM in Kumasi when a young nurse, Nana Yaa, accompanied by a group of young men suspected to be “wee boys,” stormed the station to confront talk show host Maame Frimpomaa Korankye, popularly known as MFK.

How It All Started

The confrontation was triggered by an earlier appearance on Lawson Afisem, a popular social issues program hosted by MFK.

A young man, identified as Desmond, took to the airwaves to narrate his troubled relationship with Nana Yaa.

According to him, their romance began on TikTok, where he admired her videos before eventually building up the courage to approach her.

Desmond claimed that during the course of their relationship, Nana Yaa invited him to her home, where they became intimate.

He further alleged that his iPhone XR became a point of contention, stating that the device was still in Nana Yaa’s possession.

Frustrated that he could not retrieve it, he went public with his story on the radio.

On the program, Desmond openly suggested that he had effectively “used” the iPhone XR in his relationship with Nana Yaa, a statement that quickly went viral and drew sharp criticism.

While listeners debated the morality of the claims, Nana Yaa and her family took exception to what they described as deliberate humiliation and defamation.

The Invasion at Lawson FM

Shortly after the broadcast, Nana Yaa, her mother, and a group of young men believed to be her associates stormed Lawson FM’s studios.

Eyewitnesses reported that the group aggressively confronted both Desmond and MFK, accusing the host of giving a platform for lies and disgraceful remarks.

The situation quickly escalated, with threats allegedly issued against MFK. Members of the group reportedly warned her to “be careful” or face dire consequences for hosting such discussions.

Fear spread through the station as staff scrambled to de-escalate the tension.

Police Arrests

The disturbances prompted police intervention. Both Nana Yaa and her mother, along with Desmond, were arrested for questioning.

Authorities are investigating allegations of threats, disorderly conduct, and the unresolved matter of the missing iPhone XR.
