According to the National Chairman for the New Democratic Congress Party, his Thank You tour is an act of pure gratitude towards Ghanaians and all NDC supporters.
He further refuted claims by some individuals that his Thank You tour is a political gimmick and a calculated step to win the hearts of Ghanaians.
This statement from him has attracted more criticisms, with some criticising that the President, his excellency, John Dramani Mahama, is supposed to undertake that “Thank you tour” and not the party’s chairman, but replying to those criticisms, he said; Those who disagree with me can continue with that, and I will continue to honour my promise. That is why I am here,” he said.
He continued, “It also sits very well with our tradition that when you go and beg somebody to give you something, and you are given what you request, the next thing is to go and say thank you”.
“That is why I have come to say thank you to everybody,” Asiedu Nketia concluded.
