New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has issued a stern warning to the party and rival political elements, cautioning against intimidation and manipulation ahead of the party’s crucial January 2026 presidential primaries.

Speaking during his recent campaign tour of the Northern Region, Kennedy Agyapong declared that he would not tolerate threats or any attempts to subvert the democratic process within the party.

In an emotionally charged radio interview, the outspoken politician expressed concern about rising political tensions and alleged threats against his campaign representatives in the northern parts of the country.

He recounted that during the 2023 presidential primaries, his polling agents were harassed and that he received zero votes in some polling stations — incidents he described as “unacceptable and orchestrated.”

“Why should we run away because the NDC or anyone is coming to beat us? I am not afraid of them, but I’ve just been nice. This time, if you threaten us in the north, we’ll threaten you in the south. I want to assure everyone that we’ll not go easy,” he warned.

Kennedy Agyapong, who is contesting the flagbearership race to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections with four other aspirants including the former Vice President, Dr Mahamaudu Bawumia, said his patience had reached its limit, insisting that intimidation tactics in the five northern regions would be met with equal resistance in the south.

“I’ve had a lot of patience, but the way the threats are going on in the five northern regions, we’ll resist them. If you give me zero, you’ll get zero in Central Region. If not, there will be no election,” he declared emphatically.

The former Assin Central Member of Parliament — known for his fiery rhetoric and uncompromising stance — reiterated his commitment to peace but maintained that fairness and respect must guide the NPP’s internal contest.

According to him, any deliberate disenfranchisement or manipulation of delegates’ votes would not be tolerated this time.

“I am for peace, but if they try giving me zero again, let them try and see. We are all men in this party. What they do in the north, I’ll do in the south. I’m speaking practically because it’s becoming too much,” he stated.

Kennedy Agyapong’s warning echoes his earlier remarks at the NPP-USA Chapter meeting in September, where he accused unnamed elements within the party of trying to “hijack” the NPP for their personal gain.

He reminded members that many loyalists had sacrificed their lives and livelihoods for the party’s growth and would not sit idle while a few individuals sought to dominate its internal affairs.

“People died for the NPP. People lost their property and everything they had because of their loyalty to this party. Nobody should think they can hijack the NPP for themselves,” he declared to a rousing applause.

The businessman-turned-politician has since launched what his team calls the Anti-Election Rigging Response Squad, a nationwide taskforce designed to ensure transparency in the upcoming primaries.

According to his campaign’s Director of Elections, Joojo Rocky Obeng, the squad will monitor all 276 constituencies to prevent vote manipulation and intimidation.

“Our leader has made it clear: nobody should attempt to rig this election. This Response Team will enforce his directive and protect the will of delegates,” Obeng stated.

Supporters of Kennedy Agyapong have also claimed that several religious leaders and prophets have cautioned him to remain vigilant, warning that he can only secure victory if the election is conducted fairly.

The NPP is expected to hold its presidential primary on January 31, 2026, with five prominent figures in the race — Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and Kwabena Agyapong.
