Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui will all depart Manchester United for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations.

The trio are important players to Ruben Amorim’s rising Manchester United, and they are set to represent Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Morocco.

The Cameroonian forward was voted the best signing so far by the Daily Telegraph, which shows how impressive he has been in the Premier League so far. In all competitions, the Cameroonians have scored five goals and provided two assists. On top of the goals contribution, Mbeumo has been so solid in terms of pressing and defending, making Manchester look deadly on the right-hand side of the team.

With Ivorian youngster Amad Diallo supporting Mbeumo from right wing back, the club’s strength undoubtedly is on that side. The two players who have been suffocating opponents’ left-hand side will both leave for AFCON, and it will be a massive blow.

Ahead of Manchester United’s trip to the City Ground, Ruben Amorim admitted that they will struggle in the absence of his African stars.

“We will have time to suffer. We are going to struggle a little bit, but we already knew it was going to be an opportunity.”

Moroccan versatile defender, Mazraoui, will also be missed as he is always ready to play any position and role in the club’s five positions in defence.

The 2025 AFCON will start from 21 December 2025 and end on 18th January 2026. At least seven games will be played in the Premier League and the English FA Cup in this period.

It will be a big blow for Manchester United and many other clubs that have many African players during the latter part of 2025 and early 2026.
