Dr Bawumia’s nationwide tour took him to Amenfi West, where he met NPP delegates.

The former vice president of Ghana, who is vying for the NPP’s flagbearer role alongside four other candidates, has been tipped to win the slot to represent the party in the 2028 General Elections.

The 62-year-old disclosed his motive in politics, urging the delegates to choose him.

“I’m in politics to change lives, not to make wealth,” Dr Bawumia said.

Bawumia mentioned his role in just spending 4.5 million dollars instead of the 1.2 billion dollars the previous government, led by the NDC, proposed.

“If I were in politics for money, I would have taken advantage of it.”

“I’m not in politics to gain but rather to transform lives,” he concluded.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasised that his entry into politics is not driven by money, but by a deep commitment to transforming lives and uplifting communities across Ghana.

Throughout his tenure as Vice President, Bawumia championed initiatives aimed at modernising Ghana’s infrastructure and public services.

From digitising the national identification system to expanding mobile money interoperability and promoting e-commerce, Bawumia has also promised to personally engage directly with the parties’ grassroots.
