Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has expressed Ghana’s readiness to embrace clean, responsible, and innovative waste management solutions. This comes as the country explores strategic partnerships to enhance environmental sustainability.

Speaking during a meeting with Portage Energy, a clean-energy company, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang stressed that what Ghana seeks is a true, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnership that advances national development while delivering real value to the citizenry.

“Our discussions focused on the potential for a partnership that supports Ghana’s commitment to responsible waste management. I stated that in this current political and economic environment, what Ghana seeks are true, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations that advance national development while creating real value for our people,” she said on her social media handles.

The engagement focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration that align with Ghana’s vision for modern waste-management systems and renewable-energy development.

She also emphasised that any cooperation with Portage Energy must support responsible waste management practices and contribute meaningfully to the country’s clean-energy transition.

Portage Energy specialises in sustainable waste management, waste-to-energy technologies, and the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
