Award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer Diana Antwi Hamilton has opened up about the spiritual journey that led to her collaboration with legendary Ghanaian gospel musician Elder Emmanuel Kwasi Mireku and South African gospel sensation Ntokozo Mbambo on her latest song, Aha Ye.

In an exclusive interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, Diana Hamilton recounted that the song originated during a deeply personal visit to Elder Mireku following the passing of his father.

She explained that what began as a moment of condolence turned into a powerful worship session that sparked the creation of the song.

“I got to Elder Mireku’s house and after exchanging pleasantries, he said we should worship. He brought his keyboard and told his son to record the session. We worshiped for about 30 minutes, and that’s when the song came to me,” she narrated.

During the session, Diana described how she sang in tongues and felt the lyrics flow naturally, a line that had already been on her mind from her personal devotional time.

The singer revealed that she had not intended to officially record the song initially. It was only after Elder Mireku posted a clip of their worship session on social media that she realised its potential.

“I saw it on TikTok and knew there was something special with this song. I called him immediately to remove that clip because we needed to record it properly,” Diana explained.

Diana also shared how Ntokozo Mbambo became involved. After performing at the Accra edition of the annual Experience gospel concert, she and her team were traveling to Kumasi when the idea to feature Ntokozo struck her.

“It’s an English song with a contemporary feel, and Ntokozo is my friend. I called her on the bus and before I could finish explaining, she agreed to be part of it,” she said.

According to Diana, Ntokozo did not hear the song until her arrival in Ghana for the Dominion Praise concert.

Clarifying public perception, Diana emphasised that featuring two high-profile gospel artists was not a marketing strategy but a natural extension of the song’s spiritual impact.

Aha Ye, which translates to “This is a good place,” is now available on all digital streaming platforms and has been widely praised for its soul-stirring worship elements and cross-cultural collaboration.

The song reflects Diana Hamilton’s commitment to producing gospel music that resonates deeply with audiences while maintaining a focus on spiritual authenticity.

This collaboration marks another milestone in Diana Hamilton’s career, building on her reputation for blending traditional Ghanaian gospel with contemporary sounds, while also bridging connections with international gospel artists.
