2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: How things stand in Group I

Stanley Nwabali is Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper and he is already eyeing the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be played in the USA-CANADA-MEXICO.

Nigeria has two crucial games against South Africa and Benin in the MD3 and MD4 of the qualifiers. Currently, Nigeria has two points and sits third in Group C.

The Super Eagles cannot afford to drop any point in this week’s and next week’s crunch clashes.

Speaking to the NFF media, goalkeeper Nwabali Stanley has disclosed that he would love to play at the FIFA World Cup.

“To be honest, I wish to play at the World Cup because I enjoyed the atmosphere at the AFCON.

In the 2023 AFCON, Nwabali was one of the best players of the tournament as he heroically sent Nigeria to the finals, albeit lost 2-1 to the host Ivory Coast.

The atmosphere in Ivory Coast has never been seen in any AFCON making Nwabali fall in love with major tournaments.

“So I want to test the World Cup also. I’ve only watched it from behind years ago but I want to be part of the team going to the World Cup, added Nwabali.

Nigeria will host South Africa and travel to Benin.
