Mason-Clarke replaced Thomas-Asante Brandon in the 41st minute in Coventry City’s 4-2 victory at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
The visitors were leading 2-1 before Thomas Asante got injured.
Having scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 17 appearances in the English Championship, helping Frank Lampard’s side to take an unbelievable 10 points lead even before Christmas.
Thomas’ injury is a big blow, even though the full days he will be out have not been communicated.
Frank Lampard expressed his delight in Asante coming off earlier, but was disappointed with the injury.
“It’s a hamstring. He said he didn’t feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him. So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it’s a concern for us, and we’ll have to see how he is.” Lampard said.
Coventry City will face Charlton, Ipswich Town, Preston North End, Bristol City and Southampton in their next five games.
It remains unknown if Thomas-Asante Brandon will be available or not.
