Helena Aboagye, a 70‑year‑old retired teacher, is appealing for help to recover a four‑bedroom house she says was sold without her consent by her only daughter, Vera, and the daughter’s boyfriend.
Helena, who recently suffered a pedestrian accident, said a close friend alerted her that the home she built — and had registered in her daughter’s name — had been sold.
With tears streaming down her face, the retiree said she confronted Vera, who at first denied the claim but later admitted that she and her boyfriend had sold the property for GH¢60,000.
Helena alleges Vera used the money to travel to the United States; she has since returned to Ghana and now lives in Accra.
Madam Helena says the house is currently being rented out and is demanding its return. When reached for comment, Vera said the matter is being handled by family elders.
