Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a January move for Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo, wtfh the club considering triggering his £65 million release clause at Bournemouth.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the Premier League, which has caught the attention of several top clubs.

Manchester City’s interest stems from their need to ease the heavy goal-scoring burden currently placed on Erling Haaland. Pep Guardiola’s side has been accused of over-reliance on the Norwegian striker, and Semenyo’s versatility across the front line makes him an attractive option.

His pace, direct style of play, and ability to create chances could provide City with a new dimension in attack, especially as they look to maintain their edge in the title race against rivals like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bournemouth, however, are bracing itself for a bidding war. Semenyo only recently signed a new deal with the Cherries, but the release clause in his contract means clubs can test their resolve once the window opens.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation, while Barcelona have been linked from abroad. Despite this, reports suggest Semenyo is keen to remain in England, which gives City a strong chance of securing his services if they act decisively.

For Ghanaian fans, the potential move is particularly significant. Semenyo has become a key figure for the Black Stars, and a transfer to Manchester City would elevate his profile on the global stage.

It would also mark another milestone for Ghanaian football, with one of its brightest attacking talents joining a club renowned for competing at the highest level in Europe. Should the deal go through, Semenyo would not only bolster City’s attacking options but also carry the pride of representing Ghana at one of the world’s most successful football institutions.

The January Transfer Window will be open on 1st January until 31 January of that month.
