Ghana coach Otto Addo has declared that the Black Stars are capable of beating any team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, provided they perform at their best. His bold statement came after the World Cup draw placed Ghana in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

Speaking after the draw in Washington, DC, Addo emphasised both the challenge and the opportunity ahead.

He acknowledged that Ghana’s group is tough, but insisted that his squad has the quality and mentality to compete with the world’s strongest sides.

“We want to win every match, that’s for sure. If we start well, anything is possible,” Otto Addo said, underlining his belief in the team’s potential after being drawn in Group L with England, Croatia and Panama.

Addo’s confidence stems from Ghana’s history of upsetting big teams on the global stage. The Black Stars have previously beaten powerhouses like the Czech Republic and the USA at past World Cups, and came within a penalty kick of reaching the semifinals in 2010.

He reminded fans that while Ghana can beat anyone on a good day, they must also respect every opponent, including Panama, to avoid complacency.

This statement has energised Ghanaian supporters, who see Addo’s words as a rallying cry ahead of the tournament.

His balanced tone—combining ambition with caution—suggests that Ghana will approach the World Cup with both confidence and humility.

For a nation making its fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage, Addo’s declaration sets the stage for a campaign filled with hope, determination, and the belief that the Black Stars can shine against any opponent.
