The matchday 3 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers kicked off on Wednesday with Togo disappointingly drawing 1-1 against South Sudan in Lome. Kharey Naled opened the scoring in the 61st minute. Esperance midfielder Roger Aholou in the 68th minute scored an own goal to level the score 1-1. It was a very disappointing result for Togo.

Venuste Babula scored the winner for the Central African Republic to record a 1-0 win over Chad. CAR are third with 4 points from three games in Group I.

Namibia drew 1-1 with Liberia in Johannesburg. Karuuombe’s early strike in the first half was cancelled in the second half by Sackor for Liberia.

Sierra Leone defeated Djibouti 2-1 with 39-year-old former Aston Villa defender Curtis Davis scoring for the home side.

Tunisia won 1-0 thanks to Ali Ben Romdhane’s late penalty against the troubled Equatorial Guinea. The win has helped Tunisia open a whopping 9 points against Equatorial Guinea who was due to challenge Tunisia for the sole slot.
