Iban Salvador scored the only goal in the second half for Equatorial Guinea against Malawi to record their first three points. Group leaders Tunisia have won 10 points making it so difficult for Equatorial Guinea to fight for the top spot. They should have been on 9 points had it not been the 6 points deducted by FIFA for Emilio Nsue’s brouhaha.

Botswana triumphed 3-1 against Somalia to move to third in Group G. Sesinyi, Gaolaolwe and Seakanyeng were the scorers for Botswana.

Dossou and Mounie’s goals cancelled Onyedika’s early strike for Nigeria to help Gornot Rohr’s Benin record an incredible 2-1 win. Nigeria has shockingly won 3 points from a possible 12 and is winless in the group. Benin is incredibly leading the group.

Lyon’s Mama Balde gave Guinea Bissau a surprise 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute against Egypt. Mohammed Salah scored a sumptuous goal to level the scores for Egypt in the second half. The Pharaohs have a 4-point lead over second-place Guinea Bissau in Group A.

Algeria came from behind to beat Uganda 2-1 away from home. Goals from Aouar and Benrahma in the second half cancelled Mutyaba,’s 10th-minute opener for Uganda.

Amadou Bakayoko’s late strike for Sierra Leone levelled the score (2-2) much to the disappointment of the Stallions of Burkina Faso. Dango Ouattara and Lassina Traore were on the scoresheet for Burkina Faso.

Jordan Ayew scored an impressive hattrick for Ghana to beat Central African Republic 4-1. Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored Ghana’s other goal while Louis Mafouta also scored a great hattrick for CAR.

Sporting Lisbon’s Geny Catamo kept his composure and scored a penalty in the 93rd minute to help Mozambique beat Guinea in Morocco. Mozambique sits second in Group G only because of goal difference. Algeria has 9 points just like Mozambique.
