Kennedy Agyapong was the runner-up to Dr Bawumia in the 2026 NPP flagbearer election. He was hopeful of winning the seat but fell far behind the winner.

In an interview with ace broadcaster Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), Kennedy Agyapong expressed his disappointment with how those he has helped turned against him during the campaign for the flagbearer election.

“You can help somebody to get a position, and when he gets the position, he forgets how he started,” Kennedy Agyapong said.

Ken revealed that he was not in any way envious of Bawumia winning the position but was concerned about how he was subjected to unacceptable abuse from his fellow politicians in the NPP.

“If you are not going to vote for me, no problem,” Ken said. “But the insults—I can’t forgive them.”

When quizzed by KSM about forgiveness, Kennedy Agyapong confirmed that it will be “very difficult to forgive.”

Dr Bawumia is set to lead the NPP in the 2028 General Election, but nobody knows what the feature is for Kennedy Agyapong in the party
