Ghanaians love alcohol, as they consume it whether they are sad or happy. Teenagers, youth and adults are into alcoholism. Alcohol is being sold on every corner of the country, making it easier to access.

Per the World Health Organisation’s report on alcohol, one in four injuries and one in six deaths globally is caused by alcohol.

WHO has been sending messages across the globe to leaders to help reduce the heavy intake of alcohol, which is a danger to human health.

Latest research in Ghana says that 13% of adolescents excessively consume alcohol, which leads to kidney, liver, and hypertension, stroke, among other diseases. Excessive alcoholism also leads to depression and unscrupulous behaviour.

The Chief Executive Officer of Nadbrown’s Hope Clinic at Takoradi, Dr Brown Nana Bottah, in an interview with Green Gold FM of Takoradi, advocated for the introduction of a law in Ghana that will help control excessive alcoholism.

Dr Brown implored Ghanaians to minimise the intake of hard drinks as it leads to unimaginable damages
