Real Tamale United have been in turmoil throughout the entire season culminating in an early relegation to the Division One League.

Earlier in the week, RTU players revealed that they were never going to honour the outstanding fixture against Dreams FC if their 6 months’ salaries were not paid by the club.

The boys stuck to their decision and subsequently did not travel to Dawu on Wednesday. RTU was thrashed 8-1 with Agyenim Boateng Mensah scoring five for the Still Believe.

Shockingly, the scorer of RTU’s consolation, Lord Adabo was in Tamale but his name appeared on the scoring sheet. It has surprised many Ghanaians as RTU fielded unqualified and unregistered players for the game.

Ghana Football has charged RTU for impersonation and also deceiving the Ghanaian football fraternity.

The GFA’s statement reads: “Real Tamale United have been charged with a breach of Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, following their Ghana Premier League game against Dreams FC. It is alleged that the Club intentionally deceived the match officials during the said game by using unregistered players to impersonate officially registered players of their club, which constitutes misconduct that brings the name of the game into disrepute.”

Real Tamale United is under immense pressure as they have compounded their woes by fielding unqualified players against Dreams FC.
