Shock and sorrow have gripped the quiet community of Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality following the sudden death of a woman in her late 30s under circumstances that have triggered a full police investigation.

The deceased, identified by residents as Mama Ahama, was found unresponsive in the early hours of Thursday, February 20, 2026, at the residence of her alleged lover, Christian Ahiadzro, 53, at Dzodze Kuli.

The incident was reported to the police around 3:00 a.m., after Ahiadzro alerted authorities upon discovering her condition.

Early Hours Discovery 

Police officers who responded to the distress call visited the scene and conducted a preliminary examination of the body.

According to initial police observations, there were no visible signs of physical violence or external injuries, deepening the mystery surrounding the woman’s sudden death.

The incident was confirmed by Sampson Adovor, the Assembly Member for the Ablorme Electoral Area, who told the Ghana News Agency that the deceased and Ahiadzro were known to be in a relationship.

Background

Community sources disclosed that Christian Ahiadzro is a native of Ablorme, while the deceased, Mama Ahama, hailed from Kuli Dzogbefime, both communities within Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality.

The relationship between the two was reportedly known within the local area, making the incident even more disturbing for residents who were familiar with the couple.

Hospital Confirmation of Death

After police documentation at the scene, the body was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where a medical examination was conducted by Dr Emmanuel Bello.

The attending physician officially pronounced Mama Ahama clinically dead.

Autopsy Report

Following the confirmation of death, the body was transferred to the Ho Teaching Hospital, where it has been deposited at the morgue pending a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, Christian Ahiadzro is currently assisting the police with investigations, as authorities work to establish the events leading up to the incident and the circumstances under which the woman died.

The sudden death has left residents of Dzodze Kuli and surrounding communities in shock, with many calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to uncover the truth.
