The management of AMG Global Travel has dismissed as false and misleading viral social media reports alleging that an armed attack occurred at the Kaaba during night prayers in Mecca.

In a statement issued on March 17, 2026, the company clarified that the claims, which suggested an incident at the Masjid al-Haram on the 26th night of Ramadan—often associated with Laylat al-Qadr—are entirely unfounded.

According to the statement, the circulating content is AI-generated and does not reflect any real event.

“There has been no attack at the Masjid al-Haram, and worshippers continue to perform their prayers peacefully and safely,” the statement emphasized, seeking to calm growing public concern triggered by the viral posts.

The company further assured that all Ghanaian pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia for the final ten days of Ramadan remain safe and are continuing their religious activities without disruption.

Management of AMG Global Travel urged the public to disregard the misinformation and rely only on credible and verified sources for updates regarding events in the Holy Cities- Mecca and Medina, especially during sensitive religious periods.

The statement, signed by Abdel-Manan Abdel-Rahman, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the safety, welfare, and proper coordination of Ghanaian pilgrims.

The company also called for calm among families and loved ones of pilgrims, while offering prayers for the acceptance of worship during the sacred period of Ramadan.
