Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, is a big fan of Ghanaian Raggae and Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale.
Adutwum waxed lyrical, accompanied by scintillating smiles, when in an interview on HitzFM with Mercury Quaye, where he disclosed his plans to groom young talents across Ghana, where he plans to draw inspiration from Shatta Wale’s success.
“I just saw him one day from a distance at Tamale Airport. I look forward to one day meeting him,” the former Education Minister said.
Honourable Adutwum revealed that he has never had a one-on-one encounter with the Dancehall King, but he is looking forward to doing so.
“When I meet him, I’m going to say, ‘Hey, what makes you sing this way? What is your motivation? And how would you help us create 50 Shatta Wales?”
Dr Adutwum’s project of unearthing stars of Shatta Wale’s calibre will be successful when he collaborates with the Dancehall Comando crooner. The minister is ready to meet Sghatta Wale and ask for ways he can create more of him.
“My goal is to create role models who inspire others. If I get to know what Shatta Wale truly is and what drives his artistry, we can help replicate that inspiration for young Ghanaians. By the time Shatta Wale retires, I’ll have 50 Shatta Wales in the system,” he concluded.
Shatta Wale is arguably the biggest musician in Ghana, having ruled and captured the hearts of Ghanaians since his return to music in 2015.
