Elder Frank Donkor, founder of Hebron Prayer Camp, has shared the heartbreaking details of his last interaction with his two sons who lost their lives in a tragic aircraft crash in Tema.
According to him, his elder son, who was piloting the aircraft, had been returning from Ho after successfully securing a multimillion-dollar contract on the day of the incident.
He revealed that just five minutes before the crash, his son sent him their live location—what would become their final communication.
The victims have been identified as Captain Frank Amoaning Donkor, 36, a flying instructor, and his younger brother, Elijah Ofori Donkor, 25, a university graduate. Both were residents of Hebron, a community near Dobro.
Reports indicate that the brothers were travelling back from a meeting in Ho when the aircraft went down.
The light aircraft, bearing registration number 9G-ADV, crashed within the premises of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) Daycare Centre at Tema Community 1, Site 17, before bursting into flames.
Both occupants sustained severe burns and died as a result of the crash.
In what many have described as a miracle, no pupils or staff at the daycare centre were harmed during the incident, despite the aircraft crashing within the school compound.
The tragedy has left the family and community in deep mourning, as investigations are expected to determine the cause of the crash.
