A tiler in his late thirties is in serious condition after reportedly injuring his throat in Mankessim, located in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region. The man reportedly came from Kumasi and had been working in Mankessim on a tiling project with his apprentices.

The event reportedly took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, when the victim went to a friend’s house in Mankessim to relax. While the friend was not present, the man reportedly confined himself to the room, connected a tiling machine, and caused serious injuries to his throat.

When the friend returned, they reportedly found the room locked and did not get a response after knocking several times. Believing that something was amiss, he opened a window and found the victim on the floor surrounded by blood, with the machine still connected.

The victim was rescued through the window with assistance from neighbours and taken to Mankessim Roman Hospital for emergency treatment.

He was subsequently referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra because of the seriousness of his condition, where he continues to receive treatment in critical condition.

The reason for the incident is not yet known. Friends and acquaintances of the victim report that he did not exhibit any signs of distress or discuss any personal difficulties before the incident occurred.

The Mankessim Divisional Police Command has been informed of the case and has started an investigation. Please provide the text you would like me to paraphrase.
