Kwadwo Asamoah was part of Ghana’s teams that played at the 2-10 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, where he dazzled.

The former Juventus wing-back was an integral member of Milo and Kwesi Appiah’s squads that caught the attention of world football.

He knows how things work at the World Cup, hence making him one of the most experienced brains from Ghana at the world stage.

When Asamoah was quizzed about Ghana’s chances at the imminent 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kwadwo Asamoah lowered his expectations on the Black Stars but hoped for the best.

“Honestly, I’m not expecting much, but I’m hoping for the best,” Asamoah told 3Sports.

“Ghana has always been one of the favourites among African teams when it comes to the World Cup, but it won’t be easy,” he continued.

“There is no such thing as a small or big country at the World Cup,” he explained.

“We might feel in our heads that we will beat Panama, but we have to wait and see. No matter how big or small a country is, they give everything,” Kwadwo concluded.

Ghana is placed in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. On paper, Panama looks the easiest, but Asamoah warned Ghana to be extremely careful because every opponent at the World Cup gives out their best.

European giants England and Croatia are expected to pose a massive threat to the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
