A tragic domestic incident has shocked residents of Ekumfi Asaman in the Central Region after a 40-year-old woman, identified as Auntie Esi, allegedly killed her husband following a dispute over money generated from charcoal sales.

According to eyewitness accounts, the couple, who were both engaged in farming and charcoal business activities within the community, reportedly got into a heated argument on Wednesday over the sharing of proceeds from their sales.

Residents say the woman accused her husband, Kweku Blankson, of withholding a larger portion of the money earned from the charcoal business, leading to rising tension between the two.

The disagreement allegedly escalated into violence after Blankson reportedly assaulted his wife during the confrontation.

Community members indicated that later in the night, the woman is alleged to have attacked her husband while he was asleep. Following the incident, Blankson was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident has left residents in shock, with many describing the couple as hardworking individuals involved in farming and charcoal production to support their family.
