It was a dark Friday for the Ghanaian football fraternity as the news broke that Hans Kwofie, former Legon Cities, Medeama, Ashanti Gold SC, Smouha and Heart of Lions among many other clubs striker perished in a car accident.

Hans Kwofie, 35, has been a popular figure in the Ghanaian domestic league due to his performances and links with many clubs across the country.

The Tarkwa-born playmaker cum striker on Friday, June 21st, was involved in a fatal accident when he was heading towards his hometown Dompin Pepesa.

His car got involved in an accident and he instantly died at Dadwen in the Western Region. His close friend who was with him in the car also lost his life.

It is a very sad story because Kwofie’s friend was due to marry the day after the unfortunate incidents.

Hans Kwofie’s former clubs have sent an emotional message to his family and friends after hearing the horrible news.

Hans Kwofie was the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League in 2017 when he scored 17 goals for Ashanti Gold SC.
