England head coach Thomas Tuchel has named his final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team was never going to be announced without contention because the Three Lions have superstars in abundance, where many were destined to watch the competition from their homes and beaches.
The team is headlined by skipper Harry Kane, who will be expected to lead the attack alongside Saka and Gordon.
Everton’s number one goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, as expected, was included in the goalkeeping department alongside Dean Henderson and James Trafford of Crystal Palace and Manchester City, respectively.
In the midfield, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo made the list due to recent high-profile performances since Carrick took charge of the team. Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa’s in-form Morgan Rogers are all part of the midfield.
Thomas Tuchel has been criticised heavily by England fans for leaving stars like Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Adam Wharton, Levi Colwill, Lewis Hall and Morgan Gibbs-White, among many stars.
However, many unfancied players like Dan Burn, Jarrel Quansah, Djed Spence, Jordan Henderson, Noni Madueke and Ivan Toney’s inclusion are a bit surprising to many fans.
The Three Lions will face Croatia, Ghana and Panama in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
