Brazillian legend Ronaldinho ahead of the Copa America bemoaned the lack of quality available to Dorival Jnr. He lost hope in the team even before the commencement of the tournament much to the surprise of many.

The Selecao Canarinho in their opening game against Costa Rica drew goalless. Real Madrid duo Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes started upfront alongside Barcelona’s Raphinha but failed to deliver for Brazil.

Brazil dominated and created enough chances but was not good enough to finish their opponents. They enjoyed 70% possession, had 19 goal attempts with 7 on target compared to Costa Rica’s 30% possession, 2 attempts on goal with just one on target.

Dorival Junior has a lot of job to do as he will be worried they created all the chances in the world but missed them all.

His midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Joao Gomes and Lucas Paqueta were able to create the needed chances and the needed spaces needed by attackers so he will take some positives from that combination.

The results have made Brazilian fans think twice about their chances of lifting the Copa America.

The Selecao will next face Paraguay in Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, NV, on 29th June and it’s a must-win game.
