Ghanaian fashion entrepreneur and longtime Kristo Asafo Mission member, Richard Brown, popularly known as Osebo The Fashion King, has disclosed that the late founder of the mission, Dr Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, entrusted him with coordinating the church’s activities for four years, describing the assignment as one of the greatest responsibilities he has ever received in his spiritual life.

Osebo made the revelation during an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, July 13, 2026, where he spoke extensively about his long-standing relationship with the Kristo Asafo Mission amid the ongoing discussions surrounding the church’s leadership following the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo in September 2025.

His comments come at a time when the succession of the late industrialist and religious leader has generated national attention.

The leadership transition has sparked legal disputes among some members of the Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Mission, while recent court proceedings and the reading of the late founder’s will have intensified public interest in the future direction of the church and the Kantanka Group.

Responding to questions about whether he currently serves as an elder or occupies any official office within the church, Osebo clarified that despite his decades of commitment to the mission, he has never sought any formal leadership position.

According to him, serving the church has always been more important than holding a title. “No, I don’t want any position in the church,” he stated.

However, Osebo disclosed that between 2017 and 2020, Apostle Kwadwo Safo personally entrusted him with coordinating the affairs of the church across several branches both in Ghana and overseas.

He explained that during the four-year period, he represented the mission in major locations, including Accra, Takoradi, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany, where he was responsible for communicating important messages and ensuring the smooth coordination of church activities.

“In 2017, the man gave the church to me for four good years. I was the one running the church from Accra, Takoradi, Italy, the UK and Germany. If there was any message, I would be the one to go and deliver it,” Osebo revealed.

He was quick to clarify that his assignment did not make him an administrator or head of the church but rather placed him in what he described as an ambassadorial role on behalf of the late founder.

According to Osebo, he worked alongside another representative based in Kumasi, with each assigned responsibility for different geographical areas.

“I was like an ambassador. If there was any message, one guy from Kumasi and I were the ones who delivered it. He took the Ashanti Region and I took Greater Accra,” he explained.

The celebrity stylist stressed that his relationship with Kristo Asafo Mission has never been driven by ambition for power or recognition. Instead, he said his commitment has always been rooted in faith and a desire to serve the church.

Osebo further disclosed that preaching has formed part of his Christian journey from an early age. “I preach. I started preaching at the age of 11,” he said.

Reflecting on his spiritual background, he revealed that he has remained a loyal member of the Kristo Asafo Mission since 1986, describing the church as an integral part of his life for nearly four decades.

According to him, despite the recent controversies surrounding the mission’s leadership, he has no intention of leaving the church or pursuing any official office within its hierarchy.
