Ghanaian rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru, has stated that he has no intention of abandoning his music career for politics, saying he intends to pursue both paths simultaneously.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Agyeman on HotDigital Radio in London, Guru explained that after spending many years in the music industry and acquiring higher education, he sees no reason to leave music behind. He added that, in addition to his music career, he is involved in real estate development and believes he can successfully combine music, business, and politics.
Guru reaffirmed his loyalty to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stressing that he remains a committed member of the party and is ready to serve whenever the opportunity arises.
Commenting on the performance of President John Dramani Mahama, Guru said the President has performed creditably, particularly in the areas of economic management and currency stability.
According to Guru, Ghanaians often assess governments based on measurable results and statistics. On that basis, he said President Mahama deserves commendation, adding that several other policies and initiatives introduced by the administration are contributing positively to the country’s development.
