Julian Naggelsman has been contemplating starting Niklas Fullkrug in his attack alongside Musiala and Kai Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen’s young attacker, Florian Wirtz, set to settle for a place on the bench.

Dortmund striker Fullkrug has been the talk of the country as he has proven to be a deadly weapon for Germany whenever he has been called up from the bench. He beautifully planted a header in the 91st minute to level the score 1-1 against Switzerland in Germany’s last game.

Germany was very dangerous when they massacred Scotland 5-1 in the opening game of the competition. They beat Hungary 2-0 in the second game but wasn’t as impressive as against the Tartan Army. In the 3rd group game, Germany struggled against Switzerland and head coach Naggelsman hopes they will find their rhythm on Saturday night at Signal Iduna Park.

Jonathan Tah will miss this crucial fixture due to accumulation of Yellow Cards. Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck will replace him.

Denmark has been very inconsistent in the group stage with head coach Kasper Hjulmand being a bit under pressure. In their opening game against Slovenia, the Danes were so excellent and better but couldn’t stay focused and subsequently ended 1-1.

They were the better side as they hit top form in the 1-1 draw against England. In their final game of the group, Denmark was very poor against Serbia. Their attitude was so appalling and Hjulmand would wish they would put up the performance on matchday two rather than on days 1 and 3.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s partner in front of the defence, Morten Hjulmand, will miss this crunch class with Brentford’s Jansen set to replace him. Christian Eriksen remains their best creative player and a lot is expected from him.

Germany is the favourite on paper but Denmark can pull a huge shock as they did in the Euro 1992 finals when they defeated West Germany 2-0 to lift the trophy.
