37-year-old South African tactician, Rulani Mokwena, has been announced by Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco as the new head coach.

The young coach after a successful two years as the head coach of Sundowns parted ways with the Brazillians on Monday after disagreement with the club.

There were rumours across almost all the media houses in Morocco and South Africa about Wydad Casablanca’s huge interest in the young coach.

Nicknamed the “African Pep”, it was clear Mokwena was never going to short offers because of the attractive football he played with Sundowns. On Thursday, Wydad Casablanca announced his appointment.

The South African head coach has signed a two year contract with an option for 1 year extension.
