Nigeria and Egyptian media started announcing the interest of the two federations in French fantastic head coach Herve Rehnard.
The rumours are little by little turning out to be a good news for Nigeria fans as the NFF are in negotiations with the two times winner of the AFCON for the vacant head coach role.
Information from the Nigeria Football Federation says they are willing to hand two years contract to the french coach for the vacant head role position. The reason why the deal has not been finally concluded is Herve Rehnard’s salary demand.
The 55-year-old demands $180K per month salary before he will agree to replace Finidi George who resigned after a disastrous start to his Super Eagles’ campaign.
Herve Renard has earned a huge reputation for himself on the continent after winning the 2013 and 2015 AFCON titles with Zambia and Ivory Coast.
Currently, Renard is the head coach of the French Women National team and his contract will expire soon after the Paris Olympic Games in which he is leading the team for Gold medal.
The astute tactician has managed Morocco and Saudi Arabia at the FIFA World Cup and has gained immense experience at international football.
Nigeria are in deep pains after failing to win any of their first four games for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The NFF believe Herve Renard can turn things around if they are able to secure his signature but his financial demands are making things extremely difficult for them.
