The Black Stars of Ghana was ranked 64 in June’s Coca-Cola FIFA Rankings but has moved a step backwards to 65th after some of the lowest ranked teams put up a good show at the just ended European Championship and the Copa America.

Albania moves two places up and leapfrog Ghana. The minnows lost to Spain and Italy and drew surprisingly against Croatia. This is the reason why Albania has moved ahead of Ghana.

Countries like Finland, Jamaica, Republic of Ireland, Uzbekistan and Panama are all highly ranked by FIFA ahead of the Black Stars.

Ghana’s performance in the last 12 months were extremely horrendous until the victories over Mali and Central African Republic in matchday 3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup so it’s not surprising to see Black Stars at 65.
