It has officially been announced that Hearts of Oak will face Heart of Lions in the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Charity Cup.
The 2023 edition which was to be competed between Hearts of Oak and Accara Great Olympics was cancelled.
The 2024 edition will be announced in a press conference on Tuesday July 23rd, at the Gbese Mantse’s palace, Ussher Fort, in Accra.
Hearts of Oak last week lost 2-1 against rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Democracy Cup and it’s a fine opportunity for Aboubakar Ouattara’s men to prove to the Phobia fraternity that they’re preparing for the upcoming season.
Heart of Lions on the other hand was so sensational during the final part of last season as they escaped relegation by putting up Grade A performances.
The organisers aim to promote peace and unity among their people. This year’s edition is set to take place on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium at 3 pm.
