The men’s 100m semifinals was as hot as summers eve with Ghanaian duo Azamati in Heat 1 and Rasheed -Saminu in Heat 3 failing to qualify for the finals.

Jamaica’s Oblique Seville run his Personal Best time of 9.81 to win the first heat. American star Noah Lyles finished second at 9.83 to qualify.

Britain’s Louie Hinchliffe finished 3rd with Cameroons Emmanuel Eseme and South Africa’s Shaun Maswanganyi coming 5th.

Ghana’s Benjamin Azamati run 10.17 to finish last in Heat 1. Nigeria’s Favour Ogene Tejiri came 6th with Italy’s Chituru Ali finishing 7th.

Nikoi Braithwaite of British Island run 10.15 to finish 8th.

In Heat 3, Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and USA’s Fred Kerlye finished 1st and 2nd repectively. South Africa’s Benjamin Richardson finished 3rd while Japan’s Saani Brown came 4th with the Personal Best of 9.96.

Abdul Rasheed-Saminu of Ghana finished 7th at 10.05. Andre De Grasse of Canada and Britain’s Zhanel Hughes both finished in 5th and 6th ahead of Saminu.

Kenya’s Omanyala and Thailand’s Boonson finished 8th and 9th.

In Heat 2, South Africa’s Akani Simbine run Personal Best of 9.81 to win the Heat.

Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo run 9.83 to finish second. Marcell Jacob’s, gold medalist in Tokyo 2020 finished 3rd at 9.92 which is his Seasonal Best.

Nigeria’s Ajayi and Liberia’s Matadi finished 6th and 8th respectively.
