Over 100 police officers led by the Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Owusu Bempah, have taken over Bawjiase community.

This was after a young man as shot dead on Monday, August 5 ahead of the outdooring of the Bawjiase chief on Tuesday.

According to reports, a group on motorbikes invaded the chief’s palace to prevent the ceremony from happening.

The Gyasehene of Awutu Bawjiase, Nai Kwame Korabi Opeikuma IV confirmed the incident to Adom News.

To avert any reprisal attacks, Police have beefed up security in the community to supervise the outdooring of the new chief, Nai Kwaku Osardu.
