Noah Lyles entry into Stade de France’s track was absolutely disrespectful as he failed to admire his competitors ahead of the 200m finals.
The American was seen shouting, playing and waving to the crowd with immense confidence.
Noah Lyles was expected by many Athletic fans to win the 200m gold after winning the 100m on Sunday.
Ahead of the 200m final at the Stade de France on Thursday night, Noah said, ”…None of them is winning. When I come off the turn, they will be depressed,” said. His words shows how confident the 27-year-old is on the tracks.
Letsile Tebogo, 21, has described Lyle’s as disrespectful when asked about his opinion on being the face of athletics in the world.
”For me, I can’t be the face of athletics because I’m not an arrogant or loud person like Noah,” Tebogo said.
”So I believe Noah’s the face of athletics,” added Letsile.
After the finals, it was revealed bronze medal winner of the 200m finals, Noah Lyles, had contracted COVID 19 which did not help him reach his full strength.
“I woke up early about 5am Tuesday morning, feeling really horrible. I knew it was more than being sore from the 100m. My first thought was not to panic, I’ve ben in worse situations, I’ve been in worse conditions,” Lyles told NBC while he was in his mask.
”I took it day by day, tried to hydrate as much. It would say it has taken its toll, for sure, but I have never been more proud of myself coming out here and getting a bronze.
”We tried to keep it close to our chest. The medical staff, my coach and my mom knew.
”We didn’t want everybody to go into a panic. We wanted to be able to compete. We wanted to be able to make it discreet as possible and you don’t want to tell your competitors you are sick. Why would you give them an edge?” added Lyles.
America’s Kenny Bednarek won silver pushing Lyles to settle for bronze.
