Medeama and Dreams FC’s odyssey in the 2023-24 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup nearly won Ghana two extra slots in African club competetions.

Medeama reached the Money Zone of the CAF Champions League becoming the first Ghanaian club since Berekum Chelsea in 2012 to reach the promised land.

Dreams FC on the other hand reached the semi-final of the Confederation Cup becoming the first Ghanaian club to do so since the format was altered in 2009 to include semi-finals.

This is the shoes Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman are set to fill in the 2024-25 season. A good run can certainly earn Ghana two slots apiece in the Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

Ghana Premier League Champions, Samartex 1996 are set to face Cameroonian champions Victoria United on Sunday in the preliminary round.

In the Confederation Cup, MTN FA Cup champions, Nsoatreman will meet Chadian side Elect Sport at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg.

The second legs are scheduled to take place next week in Accra and Cameroon respectively.
