The 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season began with defending champions Samartex 1996 traveling to Accra Sports Stadium to face Dreams FC.

The game ended goalless draw after both teams failed to capitalize on the numerous goal scoring opportunities created.

A combined 22 goal attempts were made with the home side Dreams FC having 8 with 3 on target. Samartex had 14 attempts on goal with 7 on target.

Dreams FC was reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes to end the game. 18-year-old Collins Boah received his second yellow card in the 70th minute after been booked in the stroke of first half.

Nurudeen Amadu’s Samartex will be very disappointed for not being able to return to Samraboi with the full three points.

In the other game of the day, newly promoted side Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex drew goalless against Samuel Boadu’s Berekum Chelsea.

Vision FC had the opportunity to win their first ever 3 points in the GPL history but squandered all the chances.

Nana Agyeman’s charges must work on their finishing to stand any chance of enjoying the 2024-25 season.
