Ghana will face Sudan in the third game of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in Oseikrom. The Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Kwesi Appiah’s impressive side in October.
The Black Stars lost for the first time in 24 years at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the opening game of the Morocco 2025 AFCON qualifeirs against Angola.
On Monday afternoon in Berkane in Morocco, Ghana shockingly shared the spoils against the lowly Niger. Alidu Seidu’s first half opener was cancelled by Sako’s strike in the 81st minute to earn a point for Niger.
Speaking after the game, Otto Addo admitted that Black Stars is under pressure.
“We allowed two cheap goals; we’re under pressure, and we need to win the next game,” Otto said.
Two teams are to qualify from each group and Angola has taken a huge step of winning one of the slots for the next AFCON.
Angola’s 6 Points won from the available six has put Ghana who has just one point under immense pressure. Ghana must win at all costs against Sudan in the home and away ties to put themselves in a good position to progress.
September’s international break has been a complete disaster for Otto Addo and his team. They cannot afford to fail in the next one as it will almost end Ghana’s dream of qualifying to Morocco 2025.
Ghana will play against Sudan at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on 11th October and travel to Juba in 4 days later for the return leg.
