Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi has been closed down and it will not be ready until a month or two later for Asante Kotoko.

NSA has closed it down for another renovation for Black Stars’ crucial AFCON 2025 qualifiers fixture against Sudan albeit CAF on Wednesday told Ghana to look for venue outside the country for that fixture.

The club has been actively inspecting the facilities and is in advanced discussions with Anglogold Ashanti regarding the relocation.

Obuasi Len Clay Stadium has been vacant since Ashgold SC was suspended from Ghana football in 2022.

it will all depend on approval from the Ghana Football Association. If they give the green light for Asante Kotoko to use the venue, plans to use DR Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese will be ditched.

Asante Kotoko won in Nalerigu on matchday 1 by Albert Amoah’s first half strike. The win has raised the hopes of the fans as it was the first win against Karela in 8 attampts.

Fans can’t wait to watch their beloved Asante Kotoko in their next home game against Young Apostles on 20th September.

The venue will soon be communicated to fans
