James Kwesi Appiah did not attend the pre-match conference and hence delegated his right-hand side man, Ignatius Osei Fosu to face the media.
No one knows the exact reason ehy the former Black Stars manager missed the meeting with the press but many believe he did that to calm down the tension surrounding his role in the Ghana Footbal Association Executive Council (EXCO).
Ignatius Osei Fosu, the deputy head coach of Sudan faced the press and he sounded very emotional ahead of Sudan’s crucial game against his native Ghana.
”I wish this match never happened”, Igantius Osei Fosu said.
It will be an emotional moment for James Kwesi Appiah, the head coach of the Sudanese National Team and his assistant, Ignatius Osei Fosu when they face Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
Kwesi Appiah is probably the biggest brain of Ghanaian football currently after passing through almost the entire ranks as a player and a coach. He qualifed Ghana for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and it is his greatest achievement.
He is the man palanning to shoot down the Black Stars in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. The feeling will be different when he recalls all the great moments he has had with Ghana. He will remain professional and whatever is expected of him.
“Preparations have not been bad but our only problem is the training pitch. It has not been the best but we will take it like that”, Osei Fosu continued.
“We have not trained at the Accra Sports Stadium yet, but what we were given at St. Thomas Aquinas is not good”, Iganatius lamented.
Sudan is traing at the St. Thomas Aquinas park and Osei Fosu thinks it’s not up to the standard they require but they have to manage. He reveled that Sudan is yet to have any practice on the Accra Sports Stadium pitch with less than 24 hrs to kick off.
Ghana faces Sudan on Thursday afternoon in matchday 3 of the AFCON qualifiers in Accra.
