He will be the 3rd head coach for the Moroccan giants since the start of the season although one was in an interim basis.

Raja Casablanca went the entire 2023-24 season without defeat and won the Moroccan Botola PRO and the Coupe du Throne. The double was remarkable after shocking FAR Rabat who led the league table for most part of the season.

German head coac Josef Zinnbaeaur was the man who led them to the ‘Promised Land’ but surprisingly left the club at the end of the season.

Bosnian manager Rusmir Cviko replaced Zinnbauer and lasted only 8 games although he led them to the Money Zone of the CAF Champions League.

Moroccan cosch Abdelkrim Jinani replaced Cviko and won all Raja’s last 4 games but the job has bren given to the 52-year-old former Portuguese striker Ricardo Sa Pinto until the end of the season.

The much travelled head coach has enough experience albeit this is his first job in Africa. He has managed Sporting CP, Red Star, Standard Liege, Legia Warsaw, Braga, Vasco da Gama, Esteghlal among so many teams across the globe.

Ricardo Sa Pinto is tasked with defending the Moroccan league title and at least reach the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. He said: “I am here to win titles.”

Raja Casablanca sits third with 9 points on the Moroccan league log. They face FAR, Maniema and Sundowns in the CAF Champions League group stage.
