Week 10 of the South American 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers continued on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning with Argentina, Colombia, Brazil amd Paragyay all recording sweet victories.

League leaders Argentina pulverised Bolivia 6-0 to remain top of the table. Lionel Messi rolled back the years with a superb hattrick and also assisted Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez each to finish off Bolivia. Thiago Almada also scored for La Albiceleste.

Brazil destroyed Peru by 4-0 with in-form Barcelona’s playmaker Raphinha scoring a brace from the penalty spot. Andreas Perreira and Luis Henrique scored in the second half to condemn Peru to another embarrassing defeat.

Colombia smashed toothless Chile 4-0 to pile immense pressure on the 2015 and 2016 Copa America winners. Davinson Sanchez, Luis Diaz, Jhon Duran and Luis Sinisterra each scored for Colombia.

Uruguay and Ecuador played goalless draw in Montevideo at the Estadio Centenario.

28-year-old Torino striker Antonio Sanabria scored twice in the second half to ensure a 2-1 win for Paraguay over Venezuela. Jon Aramburu’s delightful opener gave Venezuela the lead but failed to protect it.

Argentine sits on top of the table having won 22 points from possible 30. Colombia is second with 19 points as Uruguay has retrogressed to third with 16. Brazil has moved to 4th with 16 points.

Chile, Peru and Venezuela remain in the bottom three while Bolivia sits in 7th place.
