Two people have been killed in renewed violence at Bawku in the Upper East region following a chieftaincy-related gun battle.
Several others have also sustained injuries, Rainbowradioonline.com has gathered.
The renewed clashes according to details available escalated after the return of a rival chief to the area.
After his arrest order was revoked by a Kumasi High Court on October 17, 2024, Alhaji Seidu Abagre, who had been living in exile since his installation in Nalerigu in February 2023, returned to Bawku.
His reappearance is alleged to have revived tensions between the two groups, resulting in gunfire exchanges on Saturday night, October 26.
