Former Bibiani Gold Stars coach, Micheal Osei’s death shocked the Ghanaian football community on 15th November 2024.
Michel Osei died at 53 after collapsing while staying in London. The former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder was very active in Ghanaian football after a recent spell with Bibiani Gold Stars where he was sacked in December 2023 after a disastrous run with the Bibiani-based club.
It is reported that he had heart issues and hence had a heart comforter whilst living in London.
Over the weekend, in week 12 of the Ghana Premier League and the lower Divisions; Access Bank Division One League and Divison Two, the Ghana Football Association ordered the clubs to observe a minute silence for the late head coach, Micheal Osei.
The Kumasi-born started his career with Okwahu United before moving to Asante Kotoko and later secured a move to Germany. He played for Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05 among many clubs.
The former midfielder managed Liberty Professionals, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars in Ghana.
