The Black Stars finished bottom of Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. They failed to record a single victory losing to Angola, Sudan and Niger and drawing against each. The results angered Ghanaians, and they demanded the sacking of Otto Addo.
News circulating in the Ghanaian media has it that the GFA has decided to keep Otto Addo against the wishes of many Ghanaians.
Otto Addo, in his second coming, signed a three-year contract in March 2024 for the Black Stars and has so far spent only eight months. He is on a $50k a month contract and was due to enjoy a $1.4m payoff had he been sacked.
The goal is clear now; Otto Addo must lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be played across the USA-CANADA-MEXICO in the summer of 2026.
Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, and it’s the first time the Black Stars have missed the competition since 2004.
The 49-year-old led Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
