The Super Clash is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 15th December, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Asante Kotoko, before the mini-break in the league, won 2-0 at Aduana before comfortably eliminating Kwamo Future Stars from round 64 of the MTN FA Cup.
Kotoko had lost four and drew one before that 2-0 success in Dormaa-Ahenkro against Aduana Stars. The poor run killed the team’s confidence but the Aduana win has boosted the confidence of the club ahead of Sunday’s clash.
“The win [against Aduana Stars] has brought some self-belief into the players. They now believe that they can do it,” the head coach, ch Prosper Og,u,m said.
“They now believe it is doable. It is something that can be done, so going into our next game [against Hearts of Oak] we are going with a lot of confidence.
“The key thing for our next game is that players will be more confident and believe in themselves that everything is doable and we can do it.”
Prosper Ogum won home and away against Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2023-24 season. In the Democracy Cup, Porcupine Warriors defeated Phobia again making it three consecutive defeats for the Accra-based club. Asante Kotoko is determined to make it four straight wins against Hearts of Oak.
