West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has shared his surprise at the physical prowess of his new teammate, Mohammed Kudus, calling the Ghanaian a formidable opponent on the pitch.
Having made the switch from Manchester United to West Ham during the summer transfer window, Wan-Bissaka reflected on his experiences in training, noting Kudus’ exceptional ball control and strength.
“Kudus and Bowen are definitely the toughest players I’ve faced here,” Wan-Bissaka remarked when discussing his challenging matchups.
“I knew Kudus was strong, but I didn’t realize just how strong. You literally can’t get the ball off him. I’m glad to be on the same team as him. It’s fantastic to see and play alongside him,” he added.
Kudus, who also joined West Ham from Ajax in the same transfer window, is adapting to the demands of the Premier League.
Although he has yet to find the net or provide an assist in league play, the Black Stars midfielder made a significant contribution in the EFL Cup, delivering the crucial assist in West Ham’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.
As the Hammers prepare to rebound from their third Premier League loss of the season against Chelsea, Kudus is eager to make an impact in their upcoming matches against Brentford and in the EFL Cup tie against Liverpool on September 25, 2024.
