Last season’s runner up Accra Lions has had a very shaky start to the new season after failing to win any of the three games played.
It was not much dangerous to them as they believe they will get back on track even though the early signs show that they are nowhere near last season’s amazing form.
Ibrahim Tanko’s charges stunned Nsoatreman with two quick goals with Faris Tahiru and Ezekiel Alladoh scoring in a space of four minutes.
Tahiru put the home side ahead in the 12th minute. Alladoh doubled Accra Lion’s lead in the 16th minute. That was the end of the game for Nsoatreman because Accra Lions is a difficult side to break down.
The Nsoatre-based club dominated possesion and created many chances (15 goal attempts) only in the first half with 3 on target but the attacking talents of Mohammed Abdul Rahaman and Steven Diyou failed to pull one back.
Accra Lions went to the break leading by two goals. Nsoatreman returned with their firece attacking style and it paid off with just two minutes played into the second half. Abdul Rahaman’s strike reduced the deficit giving the away team the confidence for a possible come back.
18-year-old Blessing Danquah scored Accra Lion’s third to put the game beyond Yaw Prekoh’s Nsaotreman.
Accra Lions zooms straight to 9th on the table from the bottom after the incredible win. They travel to Obuasi in Week 5 to face Asante Kotoko next week.
Nsoatreman faces Kotoko in Obuasi in their oustanding fixture in midweek before hosting Legon Cities next weekend..
